This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use the Platform and related services (the “Services”). It also explains choices and rights available to you.
Our Services are intended for business users who are 18 years of age or older.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
1) Personal Information We Collect
A. Information you provide to us
- Account & business info: business name, physical address, phone, website (if any), business email, industry category, tax ID (if applicable), and information verifying your authority to act for the business.
- Transactions & listings: item details, pricing, orders, shipping info, invoices, and communications with buyers/sellers.
- Support & communications: messages, tickets, feedback, and review content.
- Identity/verification: We may ask for documents to verify your business. Payment/KYC details for sellers are collected and processed by Stripe during Stripe-hosted onboarding (see “Third Parties”).
B. Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, and timestamps.
- Cookies & similar tech: See our Cookie Policy & Consent Notice for details on cookies we set (e.g., cookieConsent, access/refresh tokens, Stripe cookies) and how to control them.
C. Information from third parties
- Payments: Stripe provides us limited information about transactions, payouts, refunds, disputes, and compliance signals.
- Email delivery: AWS Simple Email Service (SES) processes transactional/support emails (account confirmations, password resets, notifications).
- (Future) Analytics: If enabled, we may receive aggregated usage metrics from Google Analytics configured for privacy-protective measurement.

2) How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide and secure the Services: account creation, authentication, listings, orders, payouts, fraud prevention, and platform integrity.
- Operate payments via Stripe, including refunds/chargebacks and our application fee logic.
- Communicate: transactional emails, service notices, support responses.
- Comply with law: record-keeping, tax and accounting obligations, responding to lawful requests.
- With consent, nalyze usage to improve features, performance, and reliability.
Legal bases (GDPR): performance of a contract; legitimate interests (e.g., security, fraud prevention, product improvement); consent (for non-essential cookies/analytics); and legal obligations.

3) Disclosures to Third Parties
We disclose personal information to:
- Stripe (payments & compliance). Stripe acts as an independent controller of payment/financial data. See Stripe Privacy Policy: https://stripe.com/privacy.
- AWS SES (email delivery processor).
- Service providers (hosting, security, customer support tools) under contract to process data on our behalf.
- Business transfers (merger, acquisition), and legal/safety disclosures (to comply with law, enforce terms, prevent fraud or security incidents).
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising under CPRA. If this changes (e.g., certain analytics/ad integrations), we will update this Policy and provide opt-outs.

4) International Transfers
We may process and store data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.

5) Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Illustrative targets:
- Account & transaction records: 7 years (tax/accounting).
- Support communications: up to 3 years.
- Access tokens: short-lived (hours).
- Refresh tokens: limited duration (e.g., up to 30-90 days) and rotating; moving to HttpOnly cookie storage.

We implement technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including HTTPS, access controls, encryption in transit, role-based access, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

GDPR (EEA/UK) rights
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Some rights may be limited by law.

Right to know/access, delete, correct, and opt-out of sale or sharing (we do not sell/share as defined by CPRA); right to limit use of sensitive personal information; and non-discrimination for exercising rights.

Email support@constructionpartsnetwork.com. We may verify your request (business authority; reasonable identity checks). If your request relates to Stripe (payments/KYC), we may refer you to Stripe where appropriate.
